This extension both speeds browsing and cuts down on bandwidth usage. When installed, hovering over a link causes a small icon to appear nearby. Hovering once again over this small, InterClue-generated, icon (or clicking) brings up a ClueView window, containing a thumbnail view of the page, along with a larger view of the text found on that page. In addition, this pop-up ClueView window contains further information about the source page (or optionally the previewed page) - information like, the word count, total number of links, total files needed to create the page, and the age of the page. The ClueView panel also tells you if the page contains RSS feeds (and offers links to them); it tells you if the link has been bookmarked by you; and it tells you if there are links to downloadable files (and how many).
Particularly useful is the ability to send the link by e-mail or to Delicious with one click. One click also copies all of the page text to the clipboard, along with annotations at the top to tell where the text came from. (This feature is particularly useful for extracting text from Google Reader or news sites.) All pretty slick! One click also ads a bookmark, goes to the next or previous link, and / or opens the page in a new tab.
![]() When installed, the program recognizes your connection speed and computer power, making appropriate performance settings. These settings can be changed manually. Dial-up users should find InterClue saves them a lot of time otherwise spent waiting for page loads. Those who travel with a portable wireless stick, and who pay a lot for each byte of data, will appreciate the economic savings. For those with high speed connections, InterClue provides loads of useful information about the current page and potential upcoming pages. The little icons that appear when hovering over a link are not always the same in appearance. If the link goes to a Blogger blog, an icon appears to identify it as such. If the link goes to a PDF file, the appropriate Adobe icon appears, and so on... click here for Linkclue Reference Sheet. If the ClueView screen contains thumbnailed images, just click for a larger view of the image. It looks like InterClue can be configured to view the contents of pdf files in a similar manner. ![]() InterClue also tries to keep your browsing safe (see an example image below): ![]() System requirements: Platform: Firefox 3.0 – 3.6* (other browsers planned) Version: 1.6.1.3, January 2010 Price: Free Language: English Download Size: unknown Installed Size: unknown, but extensions are generally small Rating: Download Site: here |
